Welcome to our new web site and headquarters for the 2012 Holiday Season Parade of Boats, in Los Angeles Harbor. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the parade, marking the start of the Holiday Season, here in the harbor. This year’s Theme for the parade is “Fifty Golden Years of Holiday Lights“. Joe Buscaino, newly elected City Councilman from the 15th District has been named Grand Marshal. (see news release) .Vessels of all shapes and sizes will participate, including powerboats, sailboats, tall ships and harbor working craft.
Entrys will be judged and trophies awarded for various classifications, such as Originality, Theme, Type of Entry and more. The parade will again be televised via LA36, Los Angeles Community Television cable channel, The broadcast will be produced by L.A. Harbor College.
Viewing locations along the parade route, located in Wilmington, the San Pedro waterfront, Ports of Call, Warehouse #1, Cabrillo Marina and more (click here for a map of the parade route), will afford spectators unencumbered views of the elaborately decorated boats and the opportunity for friends and family to join in the celebration, whether taking advantage of the many restaurants and clubs at Ports of Call or organizing an informal pot-luck.
