Victorian Christmas – Saturday, Dec 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2 – 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
For our Victorian Christmas weekend, the Banning Museum and grounds are transformed into a Christmas festival featuring Victorian period entertainment, self-guided tours of the Museum, refreshments, children’s crafts, and a visit from jolly St. Nick! Admission: FREE

Drum Barracks Civil War Christmas – Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2 – 11:00AM – 4:00 PM
This will be the 13th annual holiday celebration at the Museum. Our biggest event of the year should be our best ever as we continue to celebrate 25 years as a City of Los Angeles Museum and 150 years since our building was constructed, not to mention the Civil War Sesquicentennial’s second year.

Wilmington Winter Wonderland – Saturday, Dec. 1 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Bannings Landing Holiday Boutique – Saturday, Dec. 1 – 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
The best location on the Wilmington waterfront to watch the parade. Arts & crafts and food booths, and Banning High School G.E.S.A. students will be selling cookies and hot chocolate to raise funds for their programs.

With the theme of “50 Golden Years of Holiday Lights”,15^th District Councilman Joe Buscaino will preside as Grand Marshal for this year’s sparkling spectacular of boats that will celebrate the parade’s golden anniversary and all the great features of the Los Angeles Waterfront and working Port.

Entries will be judged and trophies will be awarded in the following categories: Theme, Traditional, Humorous, Holiday Spirit, Best Animation, Commercial, Most Original, Children’s Choice, Judge’s Choice, and Grand Marshal’s Award. Yacht Clubs will be vying for the coveted Perpetual Trophy, awarded to the club with the most entries.

Entry Fee is $30.00, which also includes admission to the Awards Brunch, to held at the DoubleTree Hotel, Sunday, Dec. 2 @ 10:00 AM.

50th Anniversary Celebration immediately following the parade at The Plaza at Cabrillo Marina , 224 Whalers Walk, San Pedro. 8:30 – 11:00 PM. Live Entertainment, Appetizer Buffet – $12.00 Cover Charge.

Now serving in her new mission as a floating Naval Museum, the IOWA has been designated as a Judging Station(see Parade Route) for the parade, hosting a contingent of school children that choose the recipients of the Children’s Choice Trophy.

We are pleased to welcome the USS IOWA and the Pacific Battleship Center as participants & supporters of our annual on-the-water event.

Joe Buscaino is the newest member of the Los Angeles City Council, elected on January 17, 2012 to fill the vacancy left by Janice Hahn, following her successful bid for US Congress.The 15th Council District includes the Port of Los Angeles and the communities of San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway and Watts.

Councilman Buscaino has lived in the 15th Council District his entire life, and is a first-generation Italian-American, whose parents emigrated from Italy over 40 years ago, in pursuit of the American dream.Joe and his wife, Geralyn, a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District, are raising their two children, and their dog, Rocco, in San Pedro.

Prior to his election to the City Council, Buscaino served for 15 years as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department.He has served on Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Harbor Area, the San Pedro YWCA’s Racial Justice Committee, and the Advisory Council for the Los Angeles Watts Summer Games and is active with Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and various Italian-American organizations.

Now, 50 years later, LA Harbor Holiday Afloat marks the beginning of the Holiday season for L.A. Harbor boaters, the surrounding communities of Wilmington, San Pedro & cities of the SouthBay. Sponsored by LA Port & others, the parade draws 1000′s of spectators, usually on the 1st Saturday of December.
